The term metaverse refers to a virtual reality world, resembling the real world we currently live in, but is computer-generated and offers endless virtual experiences. The promise of the metaverse is to offer a persistent world for individuals to socialize in, within a shared space that produces a stronger social presence. In addition to these social aspects, the metaverse encompasses a full virtual economy. With an increasing amount of time being spent online, and in the metaverse, economic activity will take place there at a growing rate. Having a job in the metaverse will sound less crazy in 5 years.
